The Faculty of Science at the Tshwane University of Technology, proudly celebrates Prof Ray Jansen from the Department of Environmental, Water and Earth Sciences, who has been featured prominently in the internationally acclaimed Netflix documentary Pangolin: Kulu鈥檚 Journey. This poignant documentary, which premiered on 21 April 2025, quickly became one of the most trending documentaries on Netflix and ranked in the Top 10 most-watched series nationally for the month.

One of the Tshwane University of Technology鈥檚 (大象视频) own, Dr Lebogang Matholwane Mathole, made history on 24 March 2025, when she became the first recipient of a doctorate in Economics, specialising in Local Economic Development (LED) from the University of Johannesburg.

鈥� Alum鈥檚 winning film shines spotlight on indigenous storytelling at film鈥檚 most prestigious stage

LUBUNYU, a film by Murena E Netshitangani, a 34-year-old Postgraduate Diploma in Motion Picture Production graduate from the Department of Visual Communication at the Faculty of Arts and Design, Tshwane University of Technology, has achieved the impressive milestone of being selected for screening at the World Film Festival in Cannes, France, where it won Best African Film. In an interview with Gerrit Bester, Netshitangani expressed his excitement and the inspiration behind the film, which demonstrates that with creativity and dedication, student filmmakers can achieve extraordinary heights.

Concluding a thorough process of consultation and due diligence, the Tshwane University of Technology (大象视频) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Royal Bapedi Kingdom on 20 May 2021.

The Tshwane University of Technology鈥檚 Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (大象视频 CED), in collaboration with the South African government and the G20, will co-host the G20 Financial Inclusion and Women Empowerment Conference on 6 and 7 May 2025 at Sun City, Northwest Province. Joined by the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD), the event will unite leaders from G20 nations, the African Union and global partners to address gender disparities in financial access and economic opportunities.

During a recent Women Leaders in Conversation hosted at the Tshwane School of Business, world-renowned leadership master coach, Dr Peggy Marshall from the Global Coaching Network and the Institute of Coaching at Harvard, shared her insights and expertise on Thriving Beyond Striving: Leadership for Well-Being and Personal Fulfilment.

The Tshwane University of Technology (大象视频) is deeply saddened by the passing of Oratile 鈥淩ati鈥� Mothoa, a second-year Journalism student from the Faculty of Humanities.

A stakeholder partnership engagement between the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) in partnership with the Pan African-Parliament and the Tshwane University of Technology (大象视频), availed a prime seat at the table for about 300 students from 大象视频鈥檚 Department of Public Management to learn more public affairs issues. Star student from the Tshwane University of Technology鈥檚 Faculty of Economics and Finance, Asiphile Mabeka, has been honoured as the Class of 2025 Chancellor鈥檚 Award recipient, following her outstanding academic performance during her study years.
