Star student from the Tshwane University of Technology’s Faculty of Economics and Finance, Asiphile Mabeka, has been honoured as the Class of 2025 Chancellor’s Award recipient, following her outstanding academic performance during her study years.
She graduated Cum Laude for her Advanced Diploma in Financial Management, making her the top achiever in the Faculty.
Born on 18 December 2001, in the small Eastern Cape town of Queenstown, Asiphile’s path to academic excellence began after matriculating in 2019. In 2020, she took a gap-year to explore her interests and career options, following which she enrolled at Ƶ for a Diploma in Financial Management in 2021. Through resilience and dedication, she completed her qualification and graduated during the 2023/24 academic year.

Eager to further her studies, Asiphile pursued an Advanced Diploma in Financial Management in 2024, which she completed with distinction. Her outstanding accomplishment earned her the Chancellor’s Award, one of the University’s most prestigious academic honours.
Describing the moment she received the award, Asiphile said it was an “amazing” feeling and that she was deeply honoured to be among the few selected for such recognition.
“This award is but one step into a great future,” she shared.
Overcome with emotion during the ceremony, she reflected on the journey that brought her to this milestone: “The hard work was all worth it and I am happy and grateful to be here, because I was able to be tops in my Faculty.”
Looking towards the future, Asiphile said she is currently awaiting responses for positions from organisations she has applied to. Enthusiastic and ambitious, she is eager to embrace new opportunities that will help her grow professionally and contribute to the financial sector in the country.
