The Tshwane University of Technology鈥檚 Faculty of ICT celebrates third-year Information Technology student, Moeketsi Kema, for representing all three AWS Cloud Clubs in South Africa at the prestigious Amazon Web Services (AWS) Summit held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

As the Chairperson of the Hacker Society and AWS Cloud Club Captain, Moeketsi took to the stage to share insights on the value of joining cloud clubs, the career opportunities they unlock and how students can leverage these platforms to excel in cloud computing.

鈥淪tanding on that stage was an incredible honour. I felt immense pride, not just for myself but for all the AWS Cloud Clubs across South Africa. Representing students who share a passion for cloud and innovation was truly surreal,鈥 he said.

The summit was more than just a speaking opportunity - it was a moment of inspiration. 鈥淪haring my journey alongside industry leaders and seeing the energy in the room was unforgettable. Knowing that my story could motivate others, was deeply rewarding,鈥 Moeketsi reflected.

He highlighted the importance of combining theoretical learning with practical experience, noting that certifications and classroom learning are vital but real growth happens through hands-on projects and collaboration.

Chairperson of the Hacker Society and AWS Cloud Club Captain, Moeketsi Kema.

鈥淎WS Cloud Clubs bridge the gap between theory and practice, empowering students to innovate, collaborate and develop real-world skills,鈥 he explained. 鈥淭hey open pathways to industry through mentorship and partnerships, ensuring graduates are professionally equipped for the future.鈥

Encouraging fellow students to take initiative, Moeketsi urged: 鈥淭he best way to grow is by putting yourself in spaces where you can learn, contribute and connect. Joining or starting a Cloud Club opens doors to resources, mentorship and experiences you cannot access alone.鈥

Moeketsi鈥檚 participation at the AWS Summit reflects the growing influence of student-led innovation at 大象视频 and the University鈥檚 vital role in shaping South Africa鈥檚 technological future.
