大象视频 alumni brought pride to their alma mater by earning sought-after nominations for this year鈥檚 prestigious Telkom SA Radio Awards. Among Tshwane FM 93.6's impressive 12 nominations, two are for 大象视频 graduates who excel as content producers at the station.
Freddie 鈥淕ee鈥 Madise, a BTech Drama alumnus, has been nominated as content producer in the Campus Radio Afternoon Drive category for his stellar work on 326 Lane. No stranger to accolades, Madise also clinched the award for The First Wave with Kagiso Lloyd in 2023.
Reflecting on this recognition, he said: 鈥淚 am a young boy from the villages who came to the city to pursue my dreams in radio. I can now confidently say I am on the right path, gaining more confidence each year.鈥
Pheladi Sekobo, a National Diploma in Journalism alumna, also got the nod for her contributions as a content producer on Something Brunchy, which itself was nominated for Daytime Show. Having only started to work as content producer this year, Sekobo admitted the honour took her by surprise:
鈥淚 thought I still had so much to learn, but this nomination assures me I am heading in the right direction. It is a great motivation to grow and aim for even more.鈥
Contributing to the station鈥檚 success, the ever-popular Pitori Originals Thursdays, co-hosted by Palesa Kgosigadi Letlape (known as Kgosigadi Tha DJ), was nominated for in the category Night-time Show.
Letlape, a National Diploma in Multimedia Design alumna, shared her excitement: 鈥淚 did not expect it at all. I am grateful they deem the show worthy of a nomination for an award.鈥
These nominations highlight individual brilliance while they also reflect Tshwane FM鈥檚 rise in prominence over time. As Madise remarked: 鈥淭hree nominations in the same category are a testament to the station鈥檚 growing visibility and impact in the industry.鈥
